I have heard amazing things about Teksavvy. And I really like the way they're taking it to Bell during the CAIP suit. My own parents are on Cogeco, and have been for years, and have had few if any problems, but they're up in the Hamilton region and don't really know what I'm talking about when I ask them if their "torrents are throttled".

It's such a sad damned situation that we must live in such an impoverished competitive field that Bell gets away with this sort of monopolistic behaviour.

Especially when that copper was laid with taxpayer money while Bell was still a Crown Corporation. I'm effing disgusted.

That said, I haven't noticed substantial shaping of my Kelcom connection yet. I'm merely anticipating. Kelcom and TekSavvy WILL be subjected to the shaping universally as Bell rolls it out in more and more areas -- Windsor has been relatively spared so far, but it won't be forever. Anybody who routes through Bell DSLAM equipment will be shaped.

I'm not looking for a free ride. I don't mind paying for my internet usage. I don't mind paying fair rates for overage. What I REALLY mind is the lack of competition in the industry, and the gall of Bell to wrestle away PAID-FOR infrastructure and sue to ceases their common carrier status in order to compete with independent ISPs.

$#@% them.

As for MNSi... I don't understand how a company progressive enough, technologically, to make investments in their own DSLAM equipment is REGRESSIVE enough to buy into the 100 year old POTS system. Don't they own cellphones? Do they really imagine there's a future in anything other than VOIP?
