Now that Bell is throttling torrents upstream from the third parties, I find myself searching for a new ISP.

I am currently with Kelcom, and although I adore them, there's just no getting around the fact that throttling blows, and they can't evade it any better than I can without dropping some DSLAM equipment into the central office.

To my knowledge, MNSi is the only local ISP that has such facilities in our area. But the @$%#ers don't offer dry loop.

Cable is looking pretty tempting with its 1MB up, and 16MB down. Especially given that I presently have 650kbps up and 4200kbps down.

Does anyone here have Cogeco? I know Cogeco had a rancid reputation for throttling a couple years back, but I heard some rumors that they've relaxed quite a bit about it recently. I figure this is as they've added new pipes, but also probably to take advantage of the people flooding from Bell now. That is, IF the rumor is true.

Anyone here got Cogeco and care to speak to that?
