Hello Everybody,

Two weeks to Ontario Linux Fest and we are running hard. This week saw
the addition of speakers, topics, sponsors and more space in which we
will all play.

Ontario Linux Fest Expands!
We've added two more rooms at the venue so that we can provide more
variety during the event. We'll now have as many as five topics going
on at once which means you'll have more choice, and that you'll want to
come back next year to catch some of those other great topics.

Happy Birthday to OOo
Ontario Linux Fest falls on the seventh birthday of OpenOffice.org this
year. We are fortunate and thrilled to have Louis Suárez-Potts join us
to talk about OOo 3.0! Louis has led the OpenOffice.org project since
the creation in 2000 and we couldn't ask for a more-compelling speaker
for this universally appealing project. Register now for Ontario Linux
Fest http://onlinux.ca/olfreg

Even More Speakers
We're tickled pink that Ross and John are joining us this year. Dr.
John C. Nash is the president of OCLUG (Ottawa) and will present "Linux
and Open Source Forecast through 2020" This academic presentation makes
a scientific analysis of what to expect in the next decade. Ross
Chevalier is the CTO of Novell Canada. He'll show us the wonders and
delights of XEN virtualization.

Our sponsors are connected
Silicon Mechanics has stepped up to sponsor an internet connection for
Ontario Linux Fest. Wireless at the venue is controlled and pricey. We
appreciate our sponsor providing us with a connection.

Red Hat and SQL Power go Gold at Ontario Linux Fest
Red Hat Canada and SQL Power will each be on hand as Gold Sponsors in
the exhibit hall at Ontario Linux Fest. They'll join our existing Gold
sponsors NetDirect and Groundwork Open Source as part of a diverse and
interesting commercial space.

Demonstration Lab
The Ontario Linux Fest is hosting a demo lab at our event. Do you have a
project that you would like to demo or a tutorial that you would like to
give? Send us an email at lab at onlinux.ca We'll have a dozen laptops on
which to run your VMware Server instance and demonstrate your
distribution, project, technique our other topic. We have limited time
slots for the wonderful opportunity. Get in touch with us now to book a
topic.

It's midterm time!
Gotcha! Actually it's time to brush up on your admins skills and get
that LPI certification that you've been meaning to write. The Linux
Professional Institute will administer LPI Exams at Ontario Linux Fest.
The exams will be half-price so you can enjoy the day at the Fest and
save money on your industry certs. Contact LPI for test details.

Focus Room
We've added a focus room for fascinating presentations that are intended
for a selected audience. This intimate room is ideal for the deeply
involved topics on the focus track.

So it has been a busy and productive week. Our reserved hotel blocks
have expired now, but you can still take a chance that a room will be
available. Things were filling up very quickly when I checked on
Tuesday. http://onlinux.ca/hotel

And don't forget that the only way to attend the Friday night Welcome
Party sponsored by Lullabot is to pre-pay your registration.
