Hi my name is Wes Brewer.. I use to live down the street from Aaron so we kind of grew up together. I started using Linux on a firewall/router box using Coyote Linux, and other similar router centric distro's. I created a site named Router Design Project (routerdesign.com) back in the days when I first fell in love with Linux and the idea of making a home router. The site is pretty much dead now. :(
I started using Linux on the desktop about 3-4 years ago, starting with SimplyMEPIS. I started toying with the idea of using Linux on my main desktop earlier but never "dumped MS" till SimplyMEPIS. I've used Red Hat (before fedora days), mandrake (before mandriva days), Corel Linux, and others when I was trying to switch.
Currently I use Arch Linux as my distro of choice. When I can I get my wife and kids to use Kubuntu. I only use Windows when I feel like gaming, and the game doesn't work as expected under Linux/Wine.
I'm always writing scripts, doing some programming, messing with someone else's code (why I love open source), and packaging. I try to give back to the community when I can... for example I have a few Arch Linux packages that I maintain since I fell in love with Arch.
I love to get my hands dirty when it comes to techie stuff.. Show me some cool code and I'll think it's the best thing since sliced bread... show me a new hardware hack and I'll be looking for my soldering iron.
