Each distribution has various flaws and strong points. That can be a plus or
a minus for Linux depending on how you look things.

My original desktop distribution of choice was Red Hat / Fedora. I moved
away from it when I was sufficiently annoyed with it. My choice then became
SuSE. I remained with it until I soured to RPM-style package management.
After SuSE, I've migrated to Ubuntu, and am sticking with it for now. That
describes my destop preferences. In terms of servers, I'm at a point where I
don't have very strong loyalties right now. My choice, for now, now would be
restricted to SuSE, Ubuntu, or Gentoo.  I still deal with CentOS and Fedora,
and find that they are normally workable if not ideal.  SuSe would be my
obvious choice if it were not for (a) that it is RPM-based, and (b) the
concerns I have about Novell's direction.
