  From researching this to having the camera up and running was appx. 30
minutes.
Go to google.ca/linux and type in ubuntu+webcam ,  look for the link to
the Ubuntu wiki, look for EasyCam or EasyCam2, follow the instructions
on how to install and run this.  Somewhere on that page is a link to the
cameras that are supported by EasyCam. Have a look there.
